But now it is Microsoft itself that is making fun of Office 2019, the latest version of its iconic office suite. Although Office 2019 was just released this past September, Microsoft is urging you.
Commercial volume-licensed (trusted) customers can access Office 2019 starting today. Office 2019 is now available for consumer and commercial customers. For consumer customers in China, India, and Japan, Office 2019 suites will be available in the next few months. Certain features are only available in the Mac or Windows versions of Office 2019.
Microsoft on Friday announced that it plans to release a new version of Office for Mac next year, with a beta version to be launched in the first half of 2015 and the full release set for the second half of the year. The company also announced that Mac users can now download a new Outlook for Mac version, as long as they’re Office 365 customers.
Microsoft on Monday released Office 2019, its 'perpetual-license' product for both Windows 10 and the Mac platform. However, the Office 2019 product is only available now for Microsoft's volume. Microsoft Office 2016 (codenamed Office 16) is a version of the Microsoft Office productivity suite, succeeding both Office 2013 and Office for Mac 2011 and preceding Office 2019 for both platforms. It was released on macOS on July 9, 2015, and on Microsoft Windows on September 22, 2015, for Office 365 subscribers. Mainstream support ended on October 13, 2020, and most editions have extended.

Alongside the version included in the Office 365 subscription package, Microsoft says it will release another Office for Mac update in 2021, which will be a single purchase.
Ahead of its refreshed Outlook for Mac coming in October, Microsoft has announced that it will release a new edition of the full Office for Mac with what it calls a 'perpetual licence' instead of subscription. Coming some time in the second half of next year, what may be called 'Office 2021' is to be sold as a one-off purchase.
'Microsoft Office will also see a new perpetual release for both Windows and Mac, in the second half of 2021,' said Microsoft in a blog post. No further details were provided, and the blog post was chiefly about updates to Exchange Server, which 'are only available with the purchase of a subscription license.'
Office for Mac was originally a single, one-off purchase from when it first came out in 1998. From 2013 onwards, however, Microsoft has been increasingly promoting its continuous subscription version, Office 365, for both Mac and Windows.
More recently referred to as Microsoft 365, the subscription comes in business, personal and family versions. The business version costs from $5 per month per user, and the personal edition is $6.99 per month. Video converter mac catalina.
